Thanks for visiting us!
You have discovered Tim Mann’s True Sea Stories (that’s me).
At 17 I was headed for a college degree like all my friends. I was going to be an architect, or a marine biologist, or something cool, and knew I would have a wonderful, successful life because of it.
But something happened that turned me around (that story is in here too). I graduated high school a year early, and built a 25-foot sailboat during what would have been my senior year.
When my friends were having their graduation party, I was 20 miles off Point Sur in that boat, headed south around the world with $100 in my pocket. That story will be in here too.
I built the boats in these stories, I sailed them, I wrote about them. The stories are all true.
In the “Fish Stories” section of the site, the sizes of the fish were recorded by my fish buyer, who was paying for them by the pound, so there are no “tall fish tales” here, except for the ones that actually happened to me.
I work full-time in my Family’s diesel repair business, Diesel Wizard, fixing trucks. I am writing in my spare time, and currently have 15 finished True Sea Stories (which I will post soon, in my spare time).
I am inviting other sailing writers to add their own true sea stories and photos ASAP, and then you will have a veritable smorgasbord of sailing to read!
Fair Winds, Tim
